We hope that someone will come in and look for them, realise they are missing an important partner in life and check the 'Red Box' We hope that they will be matched, reunited with their life partner and get back to their normal day to day life of keeping your feet warm.
Sometimes we have customers who ring or ask us if we have seen 'the missing sock' sometimes we have customers suggest we hang them from the ceiling so others may recognise them and take them happily home. We are even tempted to put a clothes line up and display the sad features of lonely single socks. A lost sock lineup.
We have a fair gathering of these sad little guys, sometimes we have to try and pair them up. It doesn't quite work and there is always just something a bit wrong and sad with it. If we get close to a match, we could send them off to those who need socks. A place where maybe they could be useful in life again. ahhhh so sad. We even have people offer to take them and turn them in to puppets!! A cheap and tacky life? Or would it allow our sad single sock a chance to make a little child happy with a soft sock toy?
But sometimes, we just get so many, we have to put them down. It just breaks our hearts. So, please please have a heart, check your washing machine bowl for a little scared sock clinging to the side and check the dryer bowls for one hiding in the corner. Just keep your little socks in mind. And if the worst thing happens and you realise you have left one behind.....pop back in and check the 'Red Box' sitting at the back of the Laundromat under the shelf. I am sure your little guys will be ecstatic to be matched together again! Not put out to cheap, dirty sock labour as a cleaning rag. Thank you.
