Give and help the homeless

We love laundromats, we really do.  Heading towards 18 years in our little laundromat at Taringa and we still love it... and looking at other Laundromats around town, the state and the world.  Yes we even checked out Laundromats in the USA, Japan and NZ.  Crazy for lovely laundromats, funky laundromats, modern laundromats even old vintage laundromats.

So when we heard about 'Orange Sky Laundry' we immediately fell in love with the concept.  A service mobile for the homeless to do their washing and drying.  In a specially fitted out van.  Fantastic!  Here are two guys in their 20's creating something for those less fortunate.  Co-founders Lucas Patchett and Nic Marchesi say they hope to achieve three things. 

"Restore respect, raise health standards and reduce strain on resources" 

So, we are aiming to get involved to raise awareness for this great service and hopefully raise some coins too.  Coming soon in our Laundromat will be a way in which you can donate, like a 'suspended coffee - we can start a suspended wash'
