How to make your towels fluffy and soft again

Don’t you hate it when your towels get all hard and scratchy? Even after using all of the products they promote on TV, they never seem as soft and fluffy as the commercials say they are. Well, here are some tips you can use that will get your towels soft without costing a ton of money in laundry products that don’t deliver the results they promise.

Try this:

** Vinegar in the rinse cycle helps to rinse the detergent and residue from your towels that make them hard and scratchy. One-half to a full cup of white vinegar will do the trick.

  • ** Do not bleach white towels; wash them with lemon juice instead. Bleach breaks down the fibers in towels and shortens the life of them, in addition to making them thin, less absorbent and scratchy.

** Do not overstuff the washing machine. Cramming a washing machine full of towels does not allow them to get clean and to rinse out well. Leave empty space in the machine when you wash your towels.

** Give them a good shake when you take them out of the dryer, loosen up the fibres before folding them up and enjoy!

    Mothers Day Sunday

    Mothers Day Sunday!

Don't do this to your lovely Mum......bring all the family washing in, use our Big Double or Triple Dexter Frontloaders, then pop it in the BIG Dexter Dryers... and it will take you just over an hour to wash, dry and fold it all for her.  Nothing nicer than fluffy towels to cheer up your Mum.  Especially if she has been having brekky in bed while you do it!!  ;)

Then with that free time, take her out for lunch it looks like it will be a pretty nice day weather wise.

    Laundromat Etiquette

Ever wonder what the correct 'etiquette' is when using a Laundromat?

    Here's our Top 10 :

    1.  Stay with your washing, so as soon as it is finished you can remove it and let others use the machine.
    2.  Don't wash animal rugs, blankets, towels in the machines.  Besides being illegal, it is just plain dangerous to those who suffer allergies or asthma.
    3.  Don't wash greasy or oily rags in the machines.  These can leave a residue that then crosses over to the clothes of the next user.
    4.  Always check your pockets for pens, nails, screws, hairclips, badges etc.  These can get stuck in the machines and cause damage or the next person can injure themselves on them if they poke up.
    5.  Don't shake your grassy or hair embedded laundry out over the floor.  This makes the laundry dirty for others and also can put grass/hair in to other machines or the fold table.
    6.  Put your laundry baskets behind or on top of the machines or under the 'Fold Table' so others have room to move around the laundry.
    7.  If you eat in the Laundromat, please try not to spill food or drink on the floor, 'Fold Table' or chairs....and always throw your leftovers/packaging in the bin.
    8.  Don't smoke in the Laundromat or just outside, move the chair away a bit - so non smokers are not affected by the second hand smoke.
    9.  Don't bring your pets in to the Laundromat.  We love animals, however our laundromat is not suitable for animals and other customers may not feel comfortable with your pet inside.
    10.  Finally....try and clean up after yourself, detergent or powder spills.....it means the laundry stays cleaner for everyone.

So that's it, those things help us - help you find our laundry clean, friendly and ready to use.
